Axiom's End

I enjoyed my time reading this book, but I don’t know if the language barrier plot element landed for me with the same impact that it has in other media, like Arrival. Felt like more of a normal plot contrivance than something that had something specific to do with language, perhaps even narrative. So I don’t know that comparisons to Arrival are the most helpful.

Really, it reads like a “boy and his slime” kind of adventure. Girl and her biomechanical velociraptor. Vibes like they’re going to fall super in love, but I don’t know that for sure. Author has a lot of history in fanfic so who knows.

So I don’t know that I’m going to run out and buy the next one, but I probably will read the next one later.
