Sam Firke reviewed Children of Memory by Adrian Tchaikovsky (Children of Time, #3)
A bit slower and more philosophical than the first two

Content warning reveals the main plot twist
I liked this, especially the corvids and the exploration of who/what exactly is sentient. The birds felt kind of like AI agents. But there was less plot payoff than the first two books - very little action, and while the simulation twist was interesting I found the buildup a little frustrating (I was listening to the audiobook at that point and it was irritating as previously established events began to overlap themselves) and it negated how much I cared about Imir.
